Hi, in this video i will show you how to use this DIY battery spot welder kit, which i bought from aliexpress for 12$.

this is a mini version of a spot welder, the kit consists of a circuit, 2 probes, connecting wires, and some fasteners along with heatshrink tube and some nickel strips for testing.

you will need a battery to power this spot welder. you can either use a 12V car battery, or else a Lipo battery with very high discharge rating. it requires atleast 100 amps current to work.

i tested it using 0.12mm nickel strips provided in the kit.
first i did some sample welds on an old 18650 lithium ion battery cell from my old laptop.

it has a power range from 1-6 level. when i tested it on level 1, the welds were not strong enough and were easily coming off.
then i tested it on level 6, and the sopt welds were very tough, and were not coming off easily.

thus, the kit is a success, and you can use it for building small battery packs
